Ignatius Luton - Skeletons

Few things are more attractive in live than the old GW undead miniatures. I still read the old rules books, with all those stories and pictures, one of the best backgrounds ever created in GW history. It was only a matter of time I started my own undead army.

My first unit was the skeleton crew. It's hard to explain but I simply love to paint skeletons, so I decided to create a big unit of 30 from a box of 20. Plenty of conversions required but being skeletons, it is a simple task.

Made with lances and coffin-tops made from hard paper. Hand made, of course

I started this unit in Karlskrona, during my erasmus. I didn't have many materials so I only painted the basic stuff, no coffins or basing

These are the back ranks, made from wood. As I said, it is extremely easy to create an army of undeads, hehe

Lines are created trying to simulate a rising horde, with front ranks fully arrayed and back ranks rinsing up.

You can see a few conversions here from the dark eldars and bretonnia basic infantry units.

The movement base is integrated with the units, with gravestones, skulls and earthworks.

The banner was repainted a few years after the creation of the units, inspiration taken from another GW undead book. I really like this one.

Rising dead, screaming out loud!

The champion, basically another one with a helmet. Not much to get from.

Different rising dead

A gravestone with a rising hand. Pure Evil Dead.
